We’ve developed a novel method for multiphoton fluorescence excitation, using forbidden transitions to triplet states.
We’re building a new type of multiphoton microscope that benefits from reduced power, size, and simpler, lower cost components. This work is inspired by optical control of forbidden state transitions in atomic systems.
Reducing power requirements while maintaining nonlinear excitation could enable new approaches to study dynamic processes across large volumes at high throughputs.
